9 ~ Bellerive State School c1858
In 1858 schoolhouse and residence were built at a cost of £410.17.0, the former designed to accomodate forty pupils. Additions and renovations were undertaken in 1884 at a cost of £876 and in 1919 an additional £496 was spent on remodelling the premises. The building continued to be used as a school until 1954. The building was used as a Youth Hostel until the mid 1990's.
